Sell your Jira or Linear history to AI: who takes it, how to export

Two AI companies take Jira and Linear history. Who they are, how to export a full Jira backup or Linear workspace, and the deadlines once you cancel.

A ticket tracker is a record of how a team plans, argues and ships: the spec, the comments, the bug report and the fix. Two of the companies we list take Jira and Linear history. If your company also has its code, see what private repositories are worth.

Tickets matter most next to the code

AI labs already train and test coding models on real issues paired with the changes that closed them. SWE-bench, a widely used benchmark, is built from 2,294 GitHub issues and their pull requests. If your tickets link to commits, keep those links in the export.

Jira: take a full site backup with attachments

Atlassian’s Jira Cloud backup is a zip of XML files, with attachments in separate folders. Include attachments, avatars and logos, and you have to wait 48 hours between backups, so don’t leave it to the last day.

Since January 22, 2026, Jira restores only from backups 30 days old or less. An older backup still works as an archive for a buyer to read.

Jira: the clock that runs out

Atlassian keeps an app’s data for 60 days after a paid subscription is deactivated, and 15 days for a free one.

Linear: export a CSV, then the rest through the API

Workspace admins export Linear data as CSV. On Enterprise plans, only owners can. The download link expires after 12 hours.

The CSV leaves out attachment files. Linear points to its API for the rest, so plan a second pass for files, comments and history.

Linear’s terms say it deletes customer data within 30 days of termination for cause, on request, or when a workspace is deleted. A free workspace left unused for a year may be deleted.

What to check before you share

  • Customer names in bug reports. Support escalations often paste a customer’s details into a ticket.
  • Secrets. Keys, passwords and connection strings end up in tickets. Search for them and remove them.
  • Security tickets. Open vulnerabilities belong nowhere near a sample.
