Sell your software company's records and code to AI
Five AI companies we list name software companies, and Pangea licenses private code by itself. What sells, what keeps value, and who takes closed startups.

Yes, twice over. Five AI companies we list name software on their own pages, and the code can be licensed separately from the rest of the company's records.

For software companies: private code and its engineering history

The engineering record sells next to the code
micro1 names “engineering workflows, bug tracking, product planning”. Turing buys work tracking from Jira, Linear and Bugzilla, and Scale takes Jira, Confluence, Linear and Notion. For a software company that means:
- Jira and Linear tickets, with their comments and links to the code that closed them.
- Slack or Teams, where design calls and incidents were argued out.
- Support tickets that show what customers hit and how it was fixed.
- Specs and runbooks in Notion, and design files in Figma.
Scale also names telecommunications and managed IT services in the same group, so MSPs and telecom operators fit here too.
Private code can be licensed on its own
Pangea licenses private repositories at $100 per million tokens of source code and $40 per million tokens of git history, non-exclusive, so the company keeps the code. Turing and Miro Advisory take codebases too, and Grepped takes “codebases with their commits, reviews and issues”. The worth calculator prices your repositories at Pangea’s rates, and the code side checks which programs fit.
History and live accounts keep the value
Pangea says “Git history carries most of the value.” Don’t squash or rewrite it before a sale. The same goes for tickets: an issue linked to the commit that fixed it is worth more than either one alone.
Grepped, Scale and Mode work from live accounts. If the company is winding down, keep the GitHub, Jira and Slack plans paid until a buyer has taken its copy. Turing takes companies that are “operating, winding down, or already closed.”
Size floors start at 20 to 40 people
micro1 asks for 30 or more full-time employees, Mode for 30, and Scale prefers 40. Miro Advisory works with roughly 20 to 700. Pangea takes code from companies and individuals alike, with no size floor.

Questions owners ask
Can a SaaS company sell its customers' data to AI?
Only records the company has the right to license. Read your terms of service and data processing agreements first. Pangea asks that customer data stay out of the code you submit.
Can a startup that has shut down still sell its code and records?
Yes, if they still exist and someone can sign. Turing takes companies that are operating, winding down or already closed, and Miro Advisory says retired products and inactive repositories can qualify.
Is the code worth more with its git history?
Yes. Pangea pays $40 per million tokens of git history on top of $100 per million tokens of source code, and says history carries most of the value.
