Mode has the lowest size floor for law firms
Mode buys from legal firms with 6 or more employees, the lowest floor any company on our list publishes for any industry. Accounting, finance and medical firms start at 10, and everyone else at 30. Mode buys from companies in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia; its page has the rest.
The others start higher. micro1 asks for 30 or more full-time employees, Scale prefers 40 or more, and Miro Advisory works with roughly 20 to 700.
Privileged material needs review before it goes anywhere
Telegraph says regulated, privileged or third-party information “requires additional review and may need to be excluded.” A law firm’s records hold all three. Sort them before you talk to anyone:
- The firm’s own operations. Templates, playbooks, intake and conflict procedures, internal policies, billing. These are what micro1 names, and they are the firm’s to license.
- Client matters. Pleadings, advice and correspondence carry client confidences. Leave them out unless your ethics counsel says otherwise and the client agrees.
- Anything under a protective order or a seal. Leave it out.
The companies we list remove names and personal details before training, but removing names doesn’t settle privilege. Ask your bar’s ethics counsel before you license anything that holds client confidences.
The firm’s know-how is what sells
micro1 lists “policies, contract workflows, review processes, governance documentation, and compliance procedures”. That points to the material a firm builds for itself: precedents, checklists and SOPs, internal email about how a review was run, and the billing and matter records that show how work was scoped and priced. Firms on Outlook and SharePoint can export from Microsoft 365.
The rights checklist covers who signs and what to check in your client terms.
