What Mercor Data takes
- •Closed matter files: pleadings, discovery productions, contracts and deal documents
- •Tax returns with workpapers, bookkeeping records and source documents
- •Closed-deal records: data rooms, models, memos, credit files and portfolio reporting
- •De-identified patient charts, imaging studies with their reports, and consented visit recordings
- •Lab notebooks, run records and experiment results, failed runs included
- •Shop-floor and project records: CAM programs, work orders, inspections, drawings, RFIs, daily logs and site imagery
- •Native CAD assemblies, circuit designs and test results
- •Private code with its history, product databases, security case write-ups and AI product session logs
- •Game code, gameplay recordings, original video and images, and long-form text the company holds the rights to
- •Consented call recordings with each speaker on a separate channel, and transcripts
- •Client deliverables with their drafts, models and decks
What Mercor Data asks for
- •A company that fits one of its 25 listings by industry, size and location. A company outside them can still ask
- •Most listings start at 5 to 20 people and run to 500 or 2,000. Call centers go to 5,000 agents
- •Based anywhere for most listings. Accounting firms must be in the US. Law firms, imaging centers and medical practices are US preferred
- •Records the company owns, not a customer's or a sponsor's, and none of it already published or licensed exclusively elsewhere
- •Not already working with Mercor
What Mercor Data pays
- •$100K to $1.5M for a manufacturing or industrial company, Mercor Data's own range for that listing. It says the amount depends on record types and history
- •$50K to $1.25M for a law firm, $80K to $820K for a medical practice, $100K to $900K for a digital health company, $115K to $1M for a construction company and $50K to $500K for a software company. Each is Mercor Data's own range for one listing, not a quote
- •Paid by wire transfer when the anonymized dataset is delivered, typically within 2 to 4 weeks of the signed agreement, with no upfront costs, setup fees or deductions

Details on who qualifies
Mercor Data publishes 25 listings, each for one kind of company. A listing names the size it wants, where the company should be based, what the records have to include and what isn’t a fit. If your company matches one, you know before anyone calls. Companies outside the listings can still ask, and Mercor says a company already working with it doesn’t qualify.
Three rules run through most listings. The company owns the records: data owned by a customer, a client, a sponsor or a foundry partner is out. The records are real: synthetic charts, scripted calls, role-played visits, template code and marketing material are out. None of it has been published or licensed exclusively to someone else.

Each range is Mercor Data’s own, read on its listing pages on November 5, 2026. Mercor says where the amount lands depends on volume, completeness and rights: matter size for a law firm, patient count and note depth for a practice, run count for a lab, hours and languages for a call center. None is a quote.
The industry pages have the detail per listing: law firms, accounting and finance, healthcare, labs and R&D, manufacturing, construction and engineering, software, agencies and consultancies and games, video and publishing.
Details on pay
Mercor pays by wire transfer when the anonymized dataset is delivered to the buyer, typically within 2 to 4 weeks of the signed agreement. There are no upfront costs, setup fees or deductions, and Mercor covers extraction and anonymization. Compensation is based on data volume, the tools you connect and the depth of your data.
Several listings say what adds to the amount. A law firm earns more for custodial email and e-discovery exports kept with the matter. A practice earns more for oncology, cardiology or rare-disease patients and for coding and claims with the documentation behind them. A manufacturer earns more for annotated CAM programs and asset photos tied to work orders. A software company earns more for thousands of pull requests with review discussion, and for code in C, C++, Rust, Swift, Kotlin, Ruby, COBOL or .NET.
What Mercor does with your records
You scope what moves, and Mercor says no data leaves your systems until you approve it. You connect the tools in scope, Mercor’s platform extracts and de-identifies the data into one asset, and the anonymization runs automatically. Mercor states SOC 2 Type II, encryption keys managed in AWS KMS, credentials held per session and never shared between connections, and an audit log of each access. We haven’t verified those claims.
Health listings add their own rule: patient records are de-identified to HIPAA standards as part of the license, and imaging studies are de-identified before transfer, including text burned into images. Law firm matters are anonymized, and active matters are excluded.
How it works
- Tell us about the company. We check it against the listings and, with your OK, submit it to Mercor through its company form.
- Scoping. Mercor asks each listing’s questions: which systems hold the records, how many years, whether the company owns the data, and whether any of it has been published or licensed before.
- NDA and export. Mercor signs the NDA, you connect the tools in scope, and its platform runs the extraction and anonymization.
- Payment. By wire, when the anonymized dataset is delivered.
Before you apply
- Find your listing in the table and read its size and location line. If you sit under the floor or outside the region, Mercor decides, so say so up front.
- Count the records the way the listing does: closed matters, patients, runs, work orders, hours of calls, pull requests.
- Check who owns the records. Client, customer, sponsor and foundry-partner data is out of each listing that mentions it.
- Check whether any of the data was published or licensed before. Several listings ask.
- Keep the systems running until the export is done. Mercor connects to them to extract the records.
