Details on who qualifies
Handshake looks for companies with 20 or more full-time employees and 3 or more years in operation. It buys “across every major industry” and names eleven: finance and insurance, hardware and engineering, healthcare, legal, logistics and supply chain, manufacturing, pharma and life sciences, professional services, real estate, retail and e-commerce, and software. Anyone outside them can still ask.
Details on pay
Handshake shows payouts of $100K to $4M+. Its estimate grows with headcount, the number of tools you use, years in business and country, and it’s “indicative”, not an offer.
What Handshake does with your records
You decide exactly what is shared and which sensitive information stays out. Handshake says all data is “scoped, de-identified, and confidential”, and you review who may receive it, how it may be used and the commercial terms before you commit.
How it works
- Start a conversation. Tell Handshake about your business and what you’d like to know.
- Explore the opportunity together. Handshake scopes your tools and records.
- Agree on scope and terms. In writing, before anything moves.
- Prepare the data. Including any de-identification the scope needs.
- Delivery and payment.
Before you apply
- Know your full-time headcount and years in operation. Handshake’s bar starts there.
- Count the tools your team works in. Handshake’s estimate asks for that number.
- Know which systems hold customer personal data, so you can set the scope.
